At Arbor Hills Animal Clinic in Ann Arbor, our veterinarians are committed to keeping your pet healthy and happy for a lifetime. That starts with routine wellness exams, which are the cornerstone to your pet’s health. We recommend that adult pets see us for a wellness exam annually; seniors twice per year. Puppies and kittens will need a series of initial vaccinations and deworming in the first months of life, so visits will be more frequent at first.
The reason wellness exams are so important is that even if your pet seems healthy, the fact is that dogs and cats instinctively hide symptoms of illness and injury—so those signals are easy to miss. There are also some life-threatening conditions that have no symptoms at all until they are very advanced.
At an adult pet wellness exam, our veterinarian will assess your pet’s physical health from nose to tail and perform a diagnostic work-up, which includes blood, fecal, and urine screenings.
